SLD Wins GOOD DESIGN Award for Miss Vickie’s Signatures Packaging

The 2020 GOOD DESIGN Award winners were recently announced and SLD is proud to have been recognized for the packaging design done for Miss Vickie’s Signatures.

Reflecting the premium, “approachable gourmet” quality of the new line of potato chips, the Signatures packaging leverages key assets from the Miss Vickie’s brand to build credibility and familiarity, while the use of black, gold and sophisticated imagery helps differentiate the line from competitors.

“When doing our research we found that a lot of premium chips focus on rustic tones and nods to nature, so we felt that a sleek and luxurious look for the Signatures line would allow it to stand out on shelves and really add a Blink Factor to the packaging,” says Jean-Pierre Lacroix, President of SLD.

Launched in the summer of 2019, Miss Vickie’s Signatures come in three distinct flavours: Black Truffle & Parmesan, Apple Cider Vinaigrette & Shallots, and Hickory Smoked Salt. Though the collection of chips were originally meant to be limited edition, the success of the line has meant that Miss Vickie’s Signatures are now available year-round.

As part of the The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, GOOD DESIGN is the oldest and most recognized program for design excellence in the world. Celebrating their 70th anniversary in 2020, this year saw a record number of submissions from over 48 nations. SLD has previously won GOOD DESIGN awards for the Nu Skin flagship store, York Link logo, and River Road Bakehouse, Smartfood, and Doritos packaging.
