Melinda’s background in storytelling began in theatre, film and television where she worked as a creative and producer for many years before shifting her focus to B2B marketing and communications. She strongly believes that regardless of the industry or medium, powerful brand communications must be grounded in a clear, meaningful brand position. In addition to leading strategy for SLD’s communications, she also supports all new business initiatives and is the host of the SLD podcast, Think Retail.

Melinda loves high-concept genre bending novels – anything by David Mitchell, N.K. Jemisin, Neil Gaiman or Gabriel García Marquez will do. She also loves well-written non-fiction on almost any subject and riding her bike – yes, even in the city.
