Shikatani Lacroix Wins PAC Packaging Design Awards

Shikatani Lacroix has won a Gold PAC award in the Brand Revitalization – Food and Beverage category for its redesign of Montellier sparkling water.

Presented last night at the Package Design Matters conference in Bonita Springs, FL., the PAC Global Leadership Awards program recognizes excellence in the design, branding, technical and sustainable aspects of packaging.

Gold winner Montellier is a pure mineral water drawn from a naturally protected spring in the county of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. It has been bottled in Quebec City since 1984 by the family business Alex Coulombe Ltée and is now distributed nationally by Alex Coulombe Ltée and Pepsi Bottling Group. Last year Shikatani Lacroix revitalized the brand’s image and elevated its packaging with a new design and wordmark.

After evaluating various packaging factors such as colour, shape and icon usage, Shikatani Lacroix designed a range of concepts that gave Montellier’s packaging a more contemporary feel without deviating too far from its original design.

The resulting packaging design speaks to the product’s value by presenting a contemporized logo and enhanced bottle colour, while maintaining the bottle shape and brand essence Montellier prides itself on.

Shikatani Lacroix also walked away with a Silver PAC award in Package Innovation for its design of Doritos 3D Evolution.
