Foodservice brands from A to Z are going through retail transformations at an unprecedented rate. Customers demand more immersive dining experiences – but when you’re dealing with a classic brand maintaining the brand equity is critically important. How do you make transformative changes to the customer experience of a brand with strong equity, without losing the connection customers already have with a chain they know and love?
Boston Pizza initiated a brand revitalization project in 2017 with the goal of doing just that: banking on the reputation of the classic casual dining chain, but upping the game and improving the customer experience. BP wanted a synergetic design maintaining brand equity, able to adapt to market conditions that delivered an elevated sports viewing experience.
This began with a complete redesign of a flagship location in the heart of downtown Toronto, that would set the blueprint for the rest of the chain across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Digital plays a key role in delivering this elevated experience. In order for the content to be effective, putting the needs of the sports fan and dinning patron first was the main objective. Through a clearly defined content strategy, beautiful branded dynamic digital content that pulls real time RSS sports feeds from the NBA, MLB, NFL, MLS and other related sources of sports information and best-in-class technology, Boston Pizza’s sports dining experience is second to none.
