Last week Shikatani Lacroix Design attended the opening of Camp Oochigeas Downtown. Camp Oochigeas is a privately funded, volunteer based organization that provides kids affected by childhood cancer with a unique opportunity to go to camp. Its new downtown location provides programming for children who are too young or too sick to attend its Muskoka camp. Located on Bathurst Street, just south of College Street, it is close to The Hospital for Sick Children.
Shikatani Lacroix designed the Jays Care Community Clubhouse at Camp Oochigeas Downtown. It features a dozen child-size locker stalls for the kids to store their belongings. Above each locker is a nameplate and number for a Blue Jays player, just like the ones in the home locker room at Rogers Centre.
Shikatani Lacroix has been working with the Jays Care Foundation since 2010, which helps at risk children and youth make positive choices and realize their dreams by providing access to programs that support physical activity, education and life-skill development.
