Cineplex Galaxy
In a bold move to consolidate the industry, Canadian-based Galaxy Entertainment Inc. merged with the Canadian assets of Cineplex Odeon Corporation to form the new Cineplex Galaxy. Shikatani Lacroix was retained to develop the new theatre concept that merged the Cineplex and Galaxy identities, joining the two personalities under one roof. The key challenge was to create an innovative, exciting consumer theatre experience for half the cost of a typical theatre, while clearly differentiating this theatre experience from competitors, and linking the facilities’ many features through comprehensive wayfinding techniques.
