The City of Brampton awarded Shikatani Lacroix Design the task of developing a wayfinding system for its newly built Century Gardens Recreation Centre. The system had to comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and set the template for future recreation facilities in the region. To reflect the centres’ recreation mandate, various elements representing movement were incorporated into the environmental graphics – all conveying the fun, playful feel of the facility. SL has also been retained to implement a wayfinding system for the city’s Earnscliffe Recreation Centre, to be completed in 2011.
