McNeil Consumer Healthcare has been providing Canadians with quality non-prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceuticals for over half a century. Their MONISTAT* products are the leading over-the-counter treatments for vaginal yeast infections, and Shikatani Lacroix was brought on board to redesign the packaging for this major brand. SL developed a range of concepts that were taken into research for consumer validation. A new, more contemporary version of the logo was developed, and while the blue package color was retained, a new “swoosh” and colored bands were incorporated to differentiate between the 1-day, 3-day, and 7-day treatment options, and create a sense of flow to give the package a softer, more feminine appeal.
